July 17: Departure Day, New York to Prague
Group Meeting:
At 5:30 PM, meet your leader and fellow students at the Delta check-in counter (outside of security) at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This is the official start of your Putney program!
Group Flight:
The group will fly on Delta flight #411 departing New York (JFK) at 8:30 PM, arriving in Prague, Czech Republic (PRG), at 10:40 AM local time on July 18 (8 hours, 30 minutes en route).
July 18–23: Prague
After a brief orientation, settle in to your time in Prague. Explore the disparate neighborhoods of the Czech capital, visit historic sites, interact with locals, and take day trips to nearby towns. Work with your workshop group as you experiment with poetry, prose, and writing for stage and screen during daily exercises inspired by your adventures in and around the city.
July 24–26: Zdíkov & South Bohemia
Travel by chartered bus into the forests of South Bohemia. Spend your days hiking wooded trails, canoeing sparkling rivers, swimming in picturesque lakes, writing, workshopping, and polishing your written work. Special invited Guest Writer, B.J. Hollars, joins the group for the journey to South Bohemia and the remainder of the program.
July 27 & 28: Prague
Return to Prague by way of Cesky Krumlov, a medieval village and UNESCO World Heritage site. Once there, plan, publicize, and prepare for a final reading of work produced during the program, and enjoy a last evening with the group.
July 29: Return Day, Prague to New York
Group Flight:
The group will fly on Delta flight #211 from Prague, Czech Republic (PRG), returning to the International Arrivals Area of John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) at 3:42 PM (9 hours, 15 minutes en route).
